Grimsby v Wrexham Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 07/01/2011

GRIMSBY head to Wrexham on Saturday, with the chance to leapfrog the Welsh club and bring themselves to just a couple of places off the play-offs. It won't be easy though as the Red Dragons have won their last four home games and only lost once at the RaceCourse all season.

Town though will point to a veritable goalfest in 2011, with their only two matches of the year yielding a club record 13 goals.

Town have no new injuries, although Connell and Kempson have been suffering from 'flu but should still feature in the match, the second of four consecutive away games for the Mariners. With all three substitutes scoring on Saturday Neil Woods has a selection problem of the right kind, although the temptation inevitably will be not to tinker with a winning formula.

For Dean Saunders's side, striker Andy Mangan is available again after suspension but defender Marvin Andrews (knock) is a doubt. Fellow defender Mark Creighton has returned to Oxford United after a loan spell loan. Former Chelsea defender, 39-year-old Frank Sinclair, could make the starting line-up if Andrews does not recover in time.

Another player who might make the squad is midfielder Christian Smith who has been Newport County came to an end.
