Ademeno Soon to Return

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 07/02/2011

CHARLES Ademeno could be back in training within two weeks following knee surgery. The former Crawley striker has struggled nearly all season with fitness problems, but with a third of the season still to play there's still time for him to have an impact as Town hopefully push towards the play-offs.

Ademeno's timetable has been helped by the FA Trophy. Gateshead's involvement in the non-league flagship competition caused Grimsby's game to be postponed this weekend. In two weeks time their weekend game with Darlington is also to be postponed because of the Quakers' run in the competition, despite it having been selected as a televised game for the Friday night.

Kidderminster, who are a place above Town in the league table, and have already had five points docked for an accounting problem, are on the verge of administration according to reports from the West Midlands. The club's bank account has been frozen, the players have not been paid in January, and they face a winding-up petition in the High Court later this month for money owed to HMRC. If the Harriers were to go into administration, they would receive a ten point reduction, and Grimsby would rise to one place and five points below the final play-off spot with two games in hand over its current occupant - Fleetwood. The Mariners have now played both automatic promotion favourites Crawley and Luton home and away, and have on paper a relatively benign run-in to the campaign.
