Ademeno Returns South

CHARLES Ademeno has left the Mariners on a free transfer to League Two newcomers AFC Wimbledon. The injury-plagued striker joined Grimsby this time last year in a three year deal, but was beset by a succession of injuries and played just 13 times for Town.

The Londoner was then told he was free to leave at the end of last season, although with two years left on his contract he could have opted to stay at Blundell Park.

Wimbledon claim to have given Ademeno a thorough medical, although he has been handed a contract reflecting his lack of fitness whilst with Grimsby. The South London club said: "Mike gave Charles a clean bill of health. He has signed a contract that, at least in its early stages, reflects his recent injury record."

  • Meanwhile after much wrangling with Boston 22-year-old defender Shaun Pearson has signed for Grimsby from the Pilgrims. The fee will be set by a tribunal
