Grimsby v Kettering Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 20/09/2011

TOWN have no new injury worries for the home match with Kettering tonight, the first game in which John Fenty has not been Chairman since 2003. Full back Gary Silk and striker Damian Spencer are the only absentees as Town look to bounce back from a poor display against Stockport.

The main decision facing the managers therefore is whether to change the side, or stick with the same XI which had won the previous two games against Forest Green and Hayes. One obvious change to make would be to bring in regular left back Lee Ridley in place of Jamie Green, who has a temporary contract with Town while Ridley is injured. Green's slip led to Stockport's first goal, although the former Boston and Rotherham defender has played well in his previous two outings.

Another possible defensive change could see Scott Garner return in central defence for either Pearson or Kempson.

Other options available to the bosses are to go back to a 4-3-3 formation, or start with players such as Eagle or Church who have not had much of a chance to show what they can do. Up front Town could start with Elding, who has only begun two games for the Mariners, and is yet to get off the mark.

Kettering, Serge Makofo's old club, lost at home to Tamworth on Saturday, but picked up their first away win down the road at Lincoln the weekend before.
