FA Trophy Update

TUESDAY'S rearranged FA Trophy Round match at Twerton Park is likely to survive the recent freeze as the West Country has generally been warmer then elsewhere in England and the pitch is reported to be playable.

Saturday's game at Blundell Park against York is also a doubt. but with the weather generally getting warmer Town should hopefully be able to play at the weekend, although freezing nights are still forecast in Cleethorpes every day between now and Saturday.

If Town manage to get past Bath (which will go to a replay at Blundell Park on Tuesday week in the event of a draw) they could be playing York again in the Fourth Round, provided the Minstermen get past Ebbsfleet in their Fourth Round tie.

The draw has been relatively kind to Town as they have avoided Luton/Kidderminster and one of those two will have to play Gateshead or Alfreton. Cambridge have probably got the easiest draw as they can get to the semis without playing a side in the top flight.

Cambridge United or Guiseley AFC v Dartford or Wealdstone
Kidderminster Harriers or Luton Town v Gateshead or Alfreton Town
Bath City or Grimsby Town v York City or Ebbsfleet United
Northwich Victoria or Hampton & Richmond Borough v Newport County or Carshalton Athletic

On paper the 4 teams in the semis could be: Cambridge, Luton, Grimsby, Newport, but it almost certainly won't!
