Town Head to Southport for Opener

GRIMSBY face Southport away from home on the opening day of the season. In both their seasons at this level so far the Mariners have played the eventual Champions in the first game, and this season they will be looking to get off to a flying start after a poor beginning to the campaign this time last year.
It won't be easy though as four of the first five fixtures are against last season's frontrunners, and the fifth club Nuneaton at this stage are something of an unknown quanitity being new to the division from the Blue Square North.
Town once again have the Christmas double bill with Lincoln. The Mariners head to City on Boxing Day and face the Imps at home on New Year's Day.
In other news Town have today released Congolese winger Serge Makofo by "mutual consent". Makofo joined Town from Kettering in January 2011 on a three-year deal.
The fixture list is as follows, although some fixtures could be changed to due to TV and police requests.
