Alfreton v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/10/2012

GRIMSBY head to Alfreton hoping to bounce back from the weekend defeat by Dartford at Blundell Park. Town are still unbeaten away from home this season, a record they are desperate to keep intact.

The managers have options available to them after the poor display against Dartford. Town's large squad gives the management team competition for places right across the side.

Attacking options include starting with Elding, Greg Pearson or Southwell.

There are choices in midfield such as Frankie Artus who was dropped for Dartford.

And defensively they are options in every position, although give Town's recent record of clean sheets it seems unlikely that there is a need for wholescale changes on the back of one defeat to an in-form side.

The Mariners face another in-form side at Alfreton, managed by former Town boss Nicky Law. The midlanders are unbeaten in the last six games and will be keen to get revenge for the two 5-2 defeats at the hands of Grimsby last season.

Alfreton have defender Adam Quinn and midfielder Anton Brown missing through injury. Former Town defender Darran Kempson is likely to start for the Reds.
