Grimsby v Kidderminster Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 19/10/2012

GRIMSBY take a break from League action when they take on Kidderminster at Blundell Park in the FA Cup. The winner of the tie faces the prospect of a big draw in the First Round proper of the FA's flagship competition.

The two teams have already met at the Aggborough Stadium this season, when they played out a fairly uneventful 0-0 draw. This time Town will be at home, where they hope to follow on from two away wins in the league which have lifted Grimsby into fourth place in the Conference.

Shaun Pearson will once again be suspended for Grimsby with a leg injury which has yet to be fully diagnosed. Centre back Ian Miller came in to replace him on Saturday and scored the winning goal in the match at Telford, so looks certain to keep his place.

Striker Greg Pearson featured in the midweek reserve game with Burton and could make the squad. He's a possible starter as on-loan Bantams forward Ross Hannah is not eligible to play in the tie, so Pearson could play in his place. Anthony Elding is another contender for a forward role.

The other two loanees Nathan Pond and Scott Neilson have both been granted permission to play.

Kidderminster are in a similar position to Town as on-loan Luton striker Adam Watkins is not allowed to play in the tie. However on-loan Fulham striker Richard Peniket has been granted permission to play by the Premier League side.
