Tommy Forecast2009/104 (0)0 goals

Tommy Forecast was another Grimsby legend for all the wrong reasons. Much was known of the young keeper upon his arrival on loan from Southampton in August 2009. Forecast had come through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur and had starred for Spurs in the FA Youth Cup. His pedigree was building at a young age he was added to the first team where he made the bench 6 times for the first team before making a promising move to Southampton.

Many people would probably speculate that Forecast's career took a nose dive when he signed for Grimsby? With Kelvin Davis and Bartosz Biakowski in his way at St Mary's, Forecast seized up on the opportunity of first team football when Nick Colgan was sidelined with an injury. He made his debut for Town and to add to that his full professional debut against Crewe Alexandra in what would be a thumping 4-0 defeat for The Mariners. Crewe's local paper described the young debutants performance as "one of the most shockingly inept displays the Football League has ever seen", and after 3 equally awful performances Forecast was sent back to Southampton early with Mike Newell choosing to sign Scunthorpe's Josh Lillis to continue in the place of Colgan.

Since what has got to be said one of the worst spells of a Town player ever, Forecast's career took an even more dismal decline, he sunk to the ranks of 5th choice keeper at his parent club which led to loan spells with lowly non-league sides Eastbourne Borough, Thurrock and Bromley. While The Saints enjoyed back to back promotions to the Premier League, Forecast found himself frozen out again but this time earned a season long loan deal to Gillingham. The Gills earned promotion to League One with Forecast making three appearances all year long. As of May 2013 he has since returned to Southampton and as of now is still technically a Premier League goalkeeper.
