Town hit the Jackpot!

GRIMSBY have been rewarded for Saturday's 3-0 cup win over Rushall with a plumb home tie against neighbours Scunthorpe United. The match could potentially by the biggest gate at Blundell Park since the Mariners left the Football League.

To give the game an added spice Scunthorpe are managed by former Town boss Brian Laws. The Iron convincingly beat Grimsby 3-0 in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup back in July, but that match was effectively a pre-season friendly so doesn't count for much.

Town beat part-timers Rushall 3-0 yesterday but 2 of the goals were quite late on so the scoreline doesn't quite reflect the game. Hannah put Town in front in the first half from the spot, then goals by Pearson and Cook late on put the game beyond doubt.
