Forest Green v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 14/01/2014 (Last updated: 17/01/2014)

MIDFIELDER Scott Kerr could return for tonight's trip to Forest Green Rovers where Town will be looking to gain ground on the teams above them, in one of their games in hand. Kerr has been missing since picking up an injury in the Boxing Day win over Lincoln. His absence has coincided with a mini-dip in form by Grimsby.

New signing Jamal Fyfield could also be involved, having joined Grimsby from York until the end of the season. Fyfield, who normally plays at left back, is unlikely to get further than the bench as he has hardly trained with the rest of the squad. He's well known to three of his teammates already though, having played with Scott Kerr, Chris Doig and Paddy McLaughlin at York City in the double winning side of 2011/2012.

Centre back Clayton MacDonald (arm) is also close to returning for the Mariners, but is awaiting an X-ray on his arm to confirm it has healed.

Rovers' new signing, striker Lee Hughes, will be in the Forest Green side, but Aarran Racine (groin), Jared Hodgkiss (shin), Chris Stokes (hamstring) and Kieron Forbes (foot) are all unavailable.
