Nuneaton v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/03/2014

GRIMSBY have no new injuries for the visit to Nuneaton, with Joe Colbeck the only player ruled out. Town played well in the second half at Forest Green, but some kind of change is almost inevitable after the defeat to Rovers ended Town's four match unbeaten run.

Defenders Clayton McDonald, Chris Doig and Jamal Fyfield could all feature as they have fully recovered from their injuries.

Hurst went with Jennings and Cook to spearhead his attack at Forest Green, but he might promote Tounkara to the starting line-up for Nuneaton.

One player who will not play for Grimsby Town again is Liam Hearn, who today was released after spending most of this season, and all of last, recovering from injuries - achilles last year, and cruciate ligament this season.

Nuneaton have this week lost manager Kevin Wilkin to Wrexham, but that reflects on how successful the parttimers have been, as they currently sit in fourth place in the league, three points ahead of Town. The midlanders have named Mark Noon as caretaker boss, but the Mariners know that their opponents will still be a tough nut to crack. Nuneaton won at Blundell Park early in the season, and Grimsby have never beaten them in three attempts, with two defeats and a 0-0 draw all Town have managed.
