Upset and Disappointed

I WAS really upset and disappointed at the way a disabled Chester supporter was treated today by your ticket office staff. Although he was obviously disabled on sight (as he had a walking stick, a severe limp and had very little use of one arm) he was asked if he had a doctors note to prove his disability.

He explained that he didn't realise that he had to have one but that he had his blue badge and could show them his disabled Chester season ticket. The girl said that without a doctor's note him and his carer were to pay full price. He went on to explain that a stroke had left him with very little use down one side of his body and stepped back so that she could see that he was actually quite disabled. This in itself I feel was not only embarrassing for him but also very degrading,

I'm sure you can imagine the size of the queue by this point and the amount of people listening in, he also had his son and daughter with him. With this the member of staff called her manager over and he had to go through it all again. It was her attitude that upset me the most as she told him that his disabled badge didn't prove a thing as anyone can get them, I quote in her words "even my mum has one and she's not disabled she's just got angina". After having enough of the humiliation and embarrassment he handed over £36 for him and his carer and left without even so much as an apology from the very rude and unsympathetic members of staff involved. May I also add that it was not only me that found this situation very upsetting as I heard someone tell the staff that they had really humiliated the man in front of his family and fellow supporters. I am appalled that this can happen at a club as established as yours.
