Town Sign Winger

Date: 10/06/2014

WINGER Jack Mackreth has joined Grimsby from Macclesfield until the end of the season. The 22-year-old is right-sided but can play on either flank. Paul Hurst has tried to sign the former Barrow winger before, but he decided to join nearby Macclesfield instead.

This time Mackreth has signed to stay at Blundell Park for a season.

One player who won't be coming back to Blundell Park, at least in a Grimsby shirt, is former Town striker Liam Hearn who has signed for League Two side Mansfield. Hearn left Grimsby in March after two serious injuries.

Hereford United have been expelled from the Conference for failing to pay creditors. Chester and Hayes and Yeading have both been given reprrieves from relegation (Conference and Conference South respectively) as a result..
