Eastleigh v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 30/04/2015

GRIMSBY head to Eastleigh tonight for the most important game of the season so far. The 46 league games that have taken place gave Town enough points to have a ticket to the play-off contest. The Mariners will be hoping it's third time lucky for them after falling at this hurdle in the last two campaigns.

Town did the double over Eastleigh in the regular season games but that counts for nothing now as this is a fresh contest.

Gregor Robertson (knee ligaments) and Christian Jolley (hamstring) are the only definite outs. Several players were left out the side for the final game with Aldershot but most of those were rested to be fresh for this game and it's likely to be a much changed line-up that takes the field for the away leg of the semi-final.

Eastleigh fielded a strong team for their final game with Kidderminster which they needed to win to be certain of a play-off berth. They are predicted to start with exactly the same lineup that defeated Kiddie.

The second leg is at Blundell Park on Sunday, with extra time and penalties if necessary. The winner looks most likely to meet Bristol Rovers at Wembley as they won the away match at Forest Green 1-0 last night, so only need a draw in Bristol took book their place in the final.
