Town Get Unwanted Replay

A SECOND string Grimsby side were held to a draw at home to Solihull Moors and will have to play the Midlands side in a replay on December 22nd. The Mariners fell behind to a first half goal by Andy Brown before on-loan striker James Alabi levelled things.

Paul Hurst made eight changes for the minor string cup competition which many supporters see as an irrelevance but does offer the prospect of a Wembley final. Only James McKeown, Toto Nsiala and Richard Tait remained in the side with striker Omar Bogle starting against his former club.

Just 1,071 supporers were there to see the game with most fans more interested to save their money for Tuesday night's replay at Shrewsbury, a possible January FA Cup tie in Cardiff or league games at Blundell Park.
