Luton v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 10/09/2016

GRIMSBY and Luton, both teams who have emerged recently from long spells outside the Football League meet today. The two teams share a troubled recent history with Ivano Bonetti and Mike Newell both having connections between the two sides.

Town avoided relegation in 2009 thanks to Luton's 30-point deduction only to get relegated the following year. Luton eventually escaped after five years, whereas Town took an extra year to turn things around. Since then the Hatters have trod water in League Two, but they have started this season well and currently sit top of the league.

On-loan striker Shaun Tuton (ankle) is a doubt, as is his Barnsley team mate Kayden Jackson who missed out at County altogether last week through injury. Rhys Browne and Sean McAllister are both ruled out, although the pair are close to recovery.

For Luton Alan Sheehan (calf) is a possible to make his debut after joining from Bradford in the summer, and defender Glen is available after returning from international duty. Long-term injuries are Danny Green and Craig Mackail-Smith.

The last three matches at Chilworth Road involving the Mariners have all been draws
