Grimsby v Blackpool Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 30/12/2016

GRIMSBY look to follow up their Merry Xmas at the hands of Accrington with a Happy New Year's Eve at home to Blackpool. The Lancashire side will be a stiffer test than struggling Accrington though as they currently are eighth after 4 wins in 6 games.

Marcus Bignot has the option of keeping the same team which beat Accrington, although full back Zak Mills is available again after missing the Boxing Day game where Ben Davies took his place at right back. The other decision Bignot needs to make is whether to continue with 19-year-old Manchester United loanee loan 'keeper Dean Henderson. Utd boss Jose Mourinho this week suggested that Henderson's loan would not be extended beyond the New Year when his current arrangement at Grimsby ends.

For the Seasiders winger Mark Yeates (calf) is ruled out but fellow wide player Colin Daniel could return from a hamstring injury which has caused him to miss the last five matches.

Blackpool have a poor record at Blundell Park having only won 5 of their 31 games there. The Seasiders did win on their last visit though in the 2003-2004 season when Town were in the Championship.
