Grimsby v Morecambe Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/09/2018

TOWN have a couple of players back from injury. Jordan Cook and Paul Dixon both featured earlier in the season for Town, and Cook, in particular, can be regarded as a first choice striker under Michael Jolley. Left back Dixon has been picked several times this season, and can be expected to feature in the squad.

Defender Akin Famewo (concussion) though is ruled out, and defender Andrew Fox is not yet ready for first-team action. Harry Cardwell has stepped up to full training and might be expected to make a strong bench.

Morecambe did have a long injury list but four players returned last week and they beat Macclesfield with most of the squad available.

Morecambe won this fixture last season in January, a match which was near the start of Town's death spiral to the bottom of the league, from which they only recovered following the arrival of Michael Jolley. Morecambe have struggled again this campaign but have managed a couple of home wins, but lost all their league games. Grimsby are yet to win a home league game.
