Town Sign Four

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 08/06/2023 (Last updated: 17/06/2023)

GRIMSBY have made a dramtic start to their summer acquisition of players with two big signings today. Striker Danny Rose has signed from Stevenage and former Dale centre back Toby Mullarkey has also joined. Both players signed two year deals.

29-year-old Rose was a regular in a promotion-winning side at Stevenage last season. The forward has also played with Mansfield and Bury where he was a regular starter.

27-year-old Mullarkey spent most of his career at Altrincham but played with Rochdale last season where he started 12 times. He can play at right back as well as in central defence.

Town have been slow to sign forwards in the last two seasons, and have started campaigns with the No 9 jersey still unclaimed. So today's acquisition of Rose (whether or not he becomes No 9) is a statement of intent, and just the start of the new-look side.

UPDATE: Striker Donovan Wilson is the third player to sign for Grimsby. The 26-year-old signs from Sutton.

UPDATE: Winger Abo Eisa is the fourth player to sign for Grimsby. The 27-year-old Sudanese signs from Bradford.

Goalkeeper Max Crocombe has left the club, turning down a new contract offer.
