Frode Kippe Ready For Grimsby Town

FRODE KIPPE should have been in Grimsby's starting line-up to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon, but his loan move to Blundell Park was halted when his pregnant wife became a week overdue with the couple's baby.
However, the deal could still be resurrected and it is understood that a permanent move is not out of the question.
Peter Robinson, who represents the Norwegian, told The Fishy that his client was all set for a move to North East Lincolnshire, but the deal was scuppered by the pregnancy.
"Grimsby were desperate to have Frode for this Saturday. They wanted him on a one-month loan deal so that they could have a look at him and then decide on whether or not to sign him permanently," he revealed.
"His wife was expecting a baby and that turned up a week overdue. Frode has absolutely no family in this country so there was no way he could leave for Grimsby. It turned out that the baby was actually born on the Saturday.
"I understand that they have since signed someone from Newcastle [David Beherall] so I don't know if their situation has changed in the meantime.
"Now the baby's out of the way we'll have another look at it. We are due to speak to Grimsby soon, so we'll have to see what happens.
"As far as I am concerned there are no other clubs involved."
Kippe is unhappy with his current club Liverpool after failing to impress himself upon the Anfield first-team and it is believed that Gerard Houllier would be prepared to let the 23-year-old leave the club for a fee in the region on £300,000.
Other News
Bard Borgersen (currently with Odd Grenland) has been watched by Grimsby. Millwall are also keen and so are Lillestrom.
His agent, Kjetil Osvold said, "There's been a lot of interest in Bard and he is currently keeping his options open.
"There has been interest from clubs in England - obviously I'm aware of who they are - but I don't really want to say too much until we have firm offers on the table."
asked directly if Lawrence was interested he said "I understand that Lennie Lawrence is looking around in Scandinavia and, from what I understand, Bard would be the type of player that would interest him.
"His contract expires at the end of October. Things should be more clear by then."
