Ben Blake Comes Highly Recommended!

UNCONFIRMED reports suggest that Grimsby and Palace have been recommended the Australian champions Wollongong Wolves' sweeper Ben Blake (25). Blake can operate at centre half, but also can be used down the left side and as a defensive midfielder - his versatility would suit the Mariners small squad.

Planetfootball.com reports that UK passport holder Blake first came to attention of the Wollongong Wolves during the 99/00 season after he had been recommended by a team mate at Singapore club Gombak Utd. He impressed through a trial and eventually signed a deal with them, going on to win a championship medal in his first year Down Under.

He has stood out for them and is rated as one of the best players in Australia.
