A Season To Remember - Special Offer

By: Dale Ladson
Date: 27/01/2002

GRIMSBY Town's club shop are making a special offer to our internet users on the club's popular "Season to Remember" special book. With just a few left in the Blundell Park vaults, the club have had the remaining ones signed by Wayne Burnett to make them unique!

One of these fabulous books could be yours for just £4.99 + £2.00 p&p.

The book features the club's most successful season, when Town visited Wembley for the first time - and within five weeks for a second time too - and became one of the few teams to have a 100% Wembley record!

But it wasn't just Wembley that made the season so special. In all Town played no fewer than 68 games.

There were 46 'normal' league games as Town stormed from 23rd in the league to third spot and a place in the play-offs.

There were six FA Cup games, including an historic win by 3-0 over Norwich City in the Third Round, before Town eventually lost at Elland Road, Leeds.

There were six League Cup games - with the never to be forgotten Blundell Park victory over Leicester City, before Michael Owen scored his first-ever hat-trick to beat Town at Anfield.

There were seven AutoWindscreens games, including the 'Friendly Final' when Town came from behind to force extra time and Wayne Burnett's 'Golden Goal' finish.

And then the season finished with the play-offs, featuring Kevin Keegan's millionaires - Fulham - before the tense final at Wembley as Town subdued Northampton's 40,000 fans ... but only after a nail-biting six minutes of added time.

It was, and always will be "A Season to Remember" ... and six minutes you'll never forget!

Own it now, at the special internet price of £4.99 + £2.00 p&p.

This offer is available only while stocks last!

(Billo says it is worth it's weight in gold. He gets a mention in the book!)
