Groves on the Charlton Pair

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/02/2002

GRIMSBY boss Paul Groves expressed his delight at obtaining the services of two Charlton players on a month's loan today. Although Swede Martin Pringle has not played for Charlton this season Groves will have no hesitation in playing him straight in the starting line-up at Forest.

"Martin's got a good touch, awareness, and he's a tall lad so he gives us something that we haven't got" the Grimsby player manager told Radio Humberside, also revealing that he was confident Pringle has returned to fitness from a long injury lay-off. The Swede has gradually built himself up with four reserve outings for the South London side in recent weeks.

On defender Andy Todd, who is also expected to make his Town debut at the City Ground on Saturday, Groves said: "Andy Todd brings Premiership quality for me. He can also handle himself and if it becomes a physical battle he'll stand up and be counted."
