Race To Sign Boulding!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 16/04/2002

THE battle to sign Michael Boulding is now on according to chairman Peter Furneaux, who says interest in the Grimsby striker is growing. Boulding is out of contract at the end of the season and there is rumoured interest from the Premiership.

"We will make our offer to Michael and we hope that he would want to stay. Hopefully the offer that we can make will be one of interest to him but we can't guarantee that anyone will re-sign once their contract comes to an end. That's the same with any player at any club."

Boulding who took his season's total to 11 goals against Burnley last Saturday is Grimsby's brightest star. Boulding, Andy Todd, and Terry Cooke are the new names on the block but ones that the Mariners fans would want to see at Blundell Park next season.

There is little chance of the club retaining Andy Todd but to lose Boulding would be a major blow to Paul Grove's plans for the forthcoming season and a bitter disappointment for the fans.
