Can We Break Records?

Grimsby Town season tickets went on sale today and already the club are reporting brisk sales with tickets being bought within minutes of the office opening. Can Town break season ticket sales records this season?

Yes they can. With your help! Season ticket sales for the coming season may well turn out to be the lifeblood of the club this time round. The club has suffered a severe financial blow with the loss of the TV money and the support of the fans has never been so vital.

To make it easy to buy your ticket, the club has a Direct Debit scheme in operation. For instance, a Pontoon Stand Adult season ticket could be paid over 6 months for £44.36 (APR 29.5%). Though there is a relatively small interest charge, much of this can be recouped by the club's offer of a free £15 club shop voucher for members of the scheme, in addition to many other offers too.

An 'average' ticket has increased by about 2% over three years, which is well below the cost of inflation, at a time when costs to the football club have been rising much faster. Players wages - an area where the Mariners have to compete with clubs attracting far bigger gates which charge significantly higher admission prices - have increased significantly, but so too has the cost of all other aspects of running a football club.

Never before have the sale of season tickets been so important. The loss of <0163>1.8 million is a hard blow to the club and will be very difficult to replace. But you can help!

Why not buy a season ticket? The club have made it easy with the Direct Debit. You do not have to pay the full amount in one payment. In fact you will be paying just over your normal monthly expenditure at BP but for only 6 months!

Season Ticket Prices are as follows:

After June 29
Upper Smiths £304 £368
Main Stand £285 £345 (Free Junior season ticket with every full paying adult)
Lower Smiths £247 £299
Pontoon £247 £299
Senior citizens: £171 all stands £207
Juniors: £60 all stands £60
Students: £171 Pontoon £20
