Blackburn Want Hot Toddy!

Blackburn Rovers are the latest club to show an interest in former Town loan defender Andy Todd. Rovers' boss Graeme Souness had the player watched during the run in to the season, report the Grimsby Telegraph.

Todd arrived at Grimsby on an initial one-month loan contract but that was extended until the end of the season. During Todd's stay at Blundell Park he scored three goals including a priceless header at Wolves to win the game.

Charlton are keen to offload Todd for around £1m and the defender has been training with the Blackburn squad for the last week. After a training ground incident involving Addicks' keeper Dean Kiely, Charlton manager Alan Curbishley has been willing to let the classy centre-half go.

This news put to rest any lingering hopes of Paul Groves keeping Todd at Blundell Park into next season, but with the TV cash no longer there, the possibility in the first place was unreasonable.
