Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Brighton Preview

By: Richard Hubbert
Date: 27/09/2002

TO say that this is a six pointer only 9 games into the season may seem a little premature, but given the predicaments of both Brighton and the Mariners, this is no normal game.

The Bottom Line

Town need three points, if not then we could become this year’s Stockport..

Team News

TownBrighton

  • Steve Chettle will miss out after coming of with a back injury in the game against Forest last week. Simon Ford will make a overdue start at centre back

  • Steve Kabba is a major doubt too, so Jonny Rowan or Darren Mansaram could replace him.

  • Stacy Coldicott and John McDermott are doubts but are both expected to be in the squad. Tony Gallimore will play as his suspension has not been brought into place yet.

  • Elsewhere, Town could see new signing George Santos feature in the side. But whether he will be on the bench, in midfield or at the back is anybody’s guess!
  • The bad news for Town is that Bobby Zamora and loan striker Graham Barrett are set to return to the side. Last season’s top scorer, Zamora has been out for the past 5 weeks and Barrett has been serving a three match ban. Keeper Michel Kuipers is also set to return after injury, a timely boost for gaffer Martin Hinshelwood who is under pressure at Albion after a disastrous start to the season.
