Pringle: My Career Could be Over

IN an interview with a Swedish newspaper former Grimsby striker Martin Pringle has expressed doubts about whether he will be able to play football again, and also revealed that he only reluctantly came to Blundell Park last season in the first place.
The former Charlton striker, who was released from his contract at the Valley this week after suffering a double fracture of his leg whilst at Grimsby, revealed that no Scandinavian clubs have shown an interest so far in the former Swedish international. "No. No one will go for me before they know if I can play."
Although Pringle was handed a short-term deal after the horrible injury he picked up whilst being on loan with Grimsby, he attaches no blame to Charlton for releasing him from his contract, given his medical complications. "They can't be blamed. But meanwhile when it became as it was I hoped for a new deal."
Pringle admits that he didn't want to come on loan to Blundell Park last season, where he made a big impression in the two games he featured in before the compound fracture further blighted his injury-plagued career. "I wasn't interested in going away on loan, but they sent me away and it went as it did. No it will be hard to find a new club now that I'm released.
"In the end I will move back to Sweden, but I'm not sure about that will be for playing football. I feel that I have a couple of years left to give if I only get my health back," said Pringle, who will be 32 later this month.
"We've been monitoring him since the injury. We've had our eye on him," said Groves. "He left a good memory here and we'll get in touch with him and have a chat about how he is. I feel for the lad and the position he's in.
"We'll have to look at his fitness. We might ask him to come up and train." said Groves on the former Benfica striker.
