"No disrespect to the likes of Grimsby..."

The most boring place on Earth
From the BBC's attempt to find the above place.
Grimsby: been there, done that, wouldn't be seen dead in the T-shirt... Paul, UK
Then the answer...
A field in North Lincolnshire is the most featureless part of the UK, according to a new Ordnance Survey (OS) map.
The square kilometre on the outskirts of the village of Ousefleet, near Scunthorpe, has nothing in it except a single electricity pylon and some overhanging cable.
Grid reference SE830220 on map 112 is as near as cartographers can find to a completely blank square among the 320,000 in the widely-used Landranger map series.
The plot of farmland was identified after OS experts used computers to trawl through the 204 maps.

Ricky Tomlinson
On the trailer for the Ricky Tomlinson film about the England manager "..back in 1975 he got a free transfer to Grimsby" accompanied by what appears to be a picture of Tomlinson with a Paul Wilkinson-esque perm in a black and white shirt.

How did they get that Crest.
From 4-4-2 magazine.
Say the word Grimsby and most people will think of one thing: fish. Grimsby has been one of Europe's leading fish ports for many years, but now thanks to microwave cuisine, the frozen pizza has rendered the Grimsby fish markets redundant. Despite this sorry fact, the Mariners still carry the history of the town on the crest of their shirt. The current crest was designed in the mid-1950's, and has stuck with the club ever since. Why there are three fish on the crest is a bit of a mystery, but it has been suggested that it has links to the England's Three Lions. And why a trawler? Well, you won't catch many fish with a combine harvester will you?
Grimsby is one of the few clubs to have it's home stadium in a different town, Blundell Park being situated in everybody's favourite holiday destination, Cleethorpes. This may change all change soon if the club gets the green light to move to a proposed new stadium. Let's hope that such a move won't herald the dawn of a new crest. A frozen pizza just wouldn't be the same. Jon Dyson
