Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

February Player of the Month

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 09/03/2003

YET another disappointing month for the Mariners, and it shows by the amount of votes The Fishy has had for each match played this month that on many occasions it was hard to find a man of the match!

Home > 2002-2003 Season > Player of the Month > February

Anyway here's the 6 players to vote for this month and remember to vote for your choice of winner on the "Question of the Week" at the side of every page.

  • Paul Groves. It is proving to be a difficult season for him as most of the time he can't pick his best team, but hopefully with the loan system beinbg changed and we can get the right calibre of player here, we might get out of the bottom three
  • Alan Pouton. When he's not playing in the team we certainly miss him, he wears his heart on his sleeve and you can tell by the way he plays in a Grimsby Town shirt
  • Terry Cooke. A very inconsistent season for him which might have a bearing whether he stays next season, but if he can get his act together he can prove all the doubters wrong he will be a good player to have in the team/squad.
  • Georges Santos. Spent most of his first season at Grimsby Town playing in defence, but when playing for other clubs has played in midfield, and hopefully will improve our defence now its leaking goals home and away.
  • Danny Coyne. Yet again an ever-present in the Town team this season and has only missed half a dozen games since his free transfer from Tranmere, and still is keeping his place in the Welsh national squad with his displays for the Mariners.
  • Tony Gallimore. If he plays to his potential will become a legend here at Grimsby Town, he is just behind Macca and Livvo as the third longest serving player but might leave the Club when his contract’s up like a few other in the summer

So there the six players for this month so don’t forget to vote for the best and then in the next two weeks the winner will be announced on the Fishy
