Mystery Bug Hits Mariners!

A bug is threatening Town's hopes of avoiding relegation with players falling over with a debilitating illness. Paul Groves quarantined Blundell Park at the weekend and cancelled training yesterday to prevent it spreading.

The Grimsby Telegraph report that Town have nine players in doubt with Richard Hughes, Michael Keane and Shaun Allaway and Tony Gallimore sick with Steve Livingstone showing early signs.

Stuart Campbell, George Santos, Stacy Coldicott, Alan Pouton and Darren Barnard are all on the injury list.

"We've had to clear the place and we've virtually closed the building," said Paul Groves

"We had a number of them down before Saturday's game. We lost Richard Hughes and he couldn't even get out of bed with it. There were a number complaining that they didn't feel the best. We felt that there was no point coming in on Monday for training and we tried to keep everyone away. We've tried to keep people at home rather than bringing them in."

"We'll see who's back in on Tuesday and start then. "It's left people quite weak and Richard still wasn't ready to do anything. He's managed to start eating so at least he's on the road to recovery."
