Cash Boost For Groves!

GRIMSBY Town boss Paul Groves looks set to receive a transfer budget boost this summer - thanks to the Town fans who have taken up the offer to buy shares in the club.

The Grimsby Telegraph's share appeal has already raised £36,000 in just three weeks and it is hoped that that figure could double in the summer weeks.

The club are hoping to raise £360,000 from the sale of non-issued shares and chairman Peter Furneaux has promised that every penny will go to Paul Groves.

He said: "It is the first time for many years that shares have been available in the club. The money raised from shares will go to the manager for team building in order to get back in a higher league, which is where we want to be."

And with 150 letters still outstanding, the club accounts manager, Steve Wraith, believes the £50,000 barrier will soon be smashed.

"There's 150 letters still outstanding, and if they all give the minimum amount of £100, then that's at least another £15,000," he said.

The Shares

Shares sales are in multiples of 100 with a minimum investment of £100.

The club will accept requests in writing stating the name and address of the proposed shareholder. Payment by Cheque should be made at the time of writing.

Formal allotment of shares will be carried out by the Directors on a monthly basis, with Share Certificates being dispatched thereafter.

Requests can be by email, but the person applying for the shares will still need to send a cheque before any consideration is given on the allotment of shares. Please state name, address and monetary amount for shares.

Cheques should be made payable to Grimsby Town Football Club Plc.
