Town To Sign Congolese Player

THE Mariners are close to signing French League player Jean Paul Kamudimba who was linked with a move to Scottish Premiership club Hearts last May until the move fell through.

He and another player came on trial earlier this month and nothing more was heard until the announcement today that the Mariners are on the verge of capturing the former Nice player.

He has played 4 times for Congo and played twice in the African Nations Cup last year.

He is training with the Mariners today, and has passed a medical. He will be returning to Nice today as Town are awaiting international clearance but it is hoped he will return for Friday's friendly against Rotherham United.
