Beat the Bookies: Week 36

LINCOLN came up with the goods last weekend to beat Chester; sadly Bradford couldn't hold on to a lead away at Brentford to make it a double for Beat the Bookies.

This weekend Town travel to Bradford. It's frankly hard to see Town getting few if any points in the remaining three games this season. Saturday's game against City is probably their best chance as neither team has much to play for, and Town will be keen to make amends for the sickening late goal Bradford scored at Blundell Park in the autumn. Nonetheless it is hard to look past 10/11 available for a Bradford win, especially with City flying at the moment with 11 points from 6 games (Town have 3).

Elsewhere in League Two Wrexham have failed to put up any sort of fight and the final nail in their coffin will fall this weekend if Notts County beat them at home (or even draw). Even if they win the Welsh Dragons look doomed anyway (which they surely know), and their recent form has been so pitiful that County should be good enough to beat them. Notts Co can be backed at 13/8.

The other team who look like going down are Mansfield but they at least have a sporting chance of avoiding the drop. First they must beat Shrewsbury, who themselves beat Wrexham last week. Mansfield have a terrible home record, and Shrewsbury are worth a punt at 10/3, although matches between these teams tend to be draws.

Recommended Bets

  • 1. Bradford to beat Grimsby (10/11, bet365))
  • 2. Notts County to beat Wrexham (13/8, bet365))
