Whittle To Sign But Not Williams

By: Bill Osborne

TOWN boss Russell Slade is confident that defender Justin Whittle who is currently on holiday will put pen to paper on a new deal when he returns.

But Slade scotched rumours that Williams was going to sign a new deal telling Mariners Net: "I did speak to Willo last week but I don't think that he will be coming into sign."

"I have targeted a keeper and hopefully there will be something there soon." he added.

(Some will be pleased to hear that Williams will not be coming back but that will depend on who Slade signs. It is easy to criticise, but unless the new goalie, whoever he is, is better than Williams, we might be sorry that he left.)
