McKeown Tait Gowling Pearson East Arnold Disley Clay Monkhouse Amond Bogle

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Macca Tait Nsiala Pearson East Arnold Clay Disley Monkhouse Amond Bogle
Subs: Gowling, Robinson, Marshall, Mackreth, Pitt man
I like Robertson but East gets up and overlaps Monkhouse (who isn't gonna fly past players himself).
And I rate Toto more than most it seems. Would have him in the team at centre-back all day long. Seems to be an easy bandwagon to jump on to claim he always makes mistakes but I see him as being calm on the ball with good distribution from CB. For me doesn't really make any more mistakes than Pearson does but Pearson has the Mr Grimsby image. Don't get me wrong I love Shaun but he has the odd mistake in him too and the amount of time he shanks a simple pass out of play frustrates the life out of me.
Agree with all of this, apart from the Pearson bit..

I reckon we'll see Robertson and East as the full-backs and (probably) Robinson in for Clay again. I think those will be the 4 attacking players, though. Would be nice for Gowling and Marshall to score goals. God knows, we've been hit by the "curse of the ex" often enough.

I'm not really sure why a loanee gets in ahead of Clay - it makes no sense fine as a sub but Clay has been one of our better players this season.

If Toto is injured, and given the solid game East had, and that Robertson will have had another weeks training. Added to the fact Hurst is clearly a big admirer (he never misses an opportunity to praise his fitness/experience/professionalism). I think the back five will be- Macca East Gowling Pearson Robertson
Unless Hurst is extremely stubborn, or is seeing something totally different in training, I think the front four will be- Arnold Monkhouse Bogle Amond
The middle two is his BIG call. He will not be able to hide behind tiredness, as they have now had a week to recover. I think he will go for Dis and Clay. Then don't be suprised to see some or even all of JP, Robinson, Marshall and even Mackreth come in on Bank holiday Monday, irrespective of the score.

That's the team I would chose for Lincoln. If he leaves Amond out again then he's lost the plot.

I would be amazed if Amond did not start. It would be tantamount to managerial suicide!!!!!!! Plus, the Fishy server/host/link/thingy-thing would break down by 5.30pm on Saturday evening!

Agree. That would break the internet. Actually, I won't be amazed if Amond doesn't start. I can see Hurst sacrificing him in the cause of countering some threat from the opposition. Just been reading a history of the American Civil War, and there's some of the George B.McClellan about Hurst.

McKeown East Toto Pearson Robertson Arnold Diz Brown Monkhouse Bogle Amond
Bench: Gowling, Clay, Marshall, Mackreth, Pittman
I still believe Brown is a better footballer than Clay, his touch is better, he is more tenacious and is more mobile. Toto will only get better by playing more games and East looked like a class player playing at right back last week.
