Fantasy thread none of the players mentioned are good enough for League 1 most are not good enough for League 2

Were Jon Nolan and Toto Nsalia good enough to go from Town in National League to Ipswich in the Championship [via Shrewsbury] previously? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, but they were young and left a successful Grimsby team.

And also impressed in League One with Shrews and Chesterfield respectively in the interim year between Town and Ipswich, their trajectories were normal.

I'd say the player most likely to link up with Hurst is indeed Andy Smith.  Signed a deal until 2026 a few months back with Hull but can see him going out on loan again.

I expect that's where Maher will end up. Clifton would be the one from players we want to retain might end up there.

I’ll bet you a million pounds he doesn’t. He’s not demonstrated he’s good enough for L2, never mind L1.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.
