Cod Head John Sowerby

The following is an interview of John Sowerby undertaken by The Fishy.

Fishy:
When did you first start supporting the Mariners, and what was your first game?

John:
Sometime in the seventies (it's my Father's fault), whilst George Kerr was manager though I've never seen a game.

Fishy:
Who is the best player you ever saw wearing a Grimsby Town shirt?

John:
Kevin Drinkell

Fishy:
If there is one game you were allowed to go back in time and watch what would it be and why?

John:
The League Cup against Everton at Goodison Park, when Paul Wilkinson scored the winner at the end of the match.

Fishy:
What are your favourite and least favourite away grounds?

John:
Never seen a match, so no comment

Fishy:
What, in your opinion, are GTFC's best and worst seasons since you have been supporting them?

John:
The best - The double Wembley season
The worst - Mick Lyons

Fishy:
What is the most eventful day you have ever had in the course of following the Mariners?

John:
Not so much one day, but the series of wins against Sheff. Wed., and Leicster in the cup, followed by the loss with honour against Liverpool were good.

Fishy:
Who is the greatest ever GTFC manager?

John:
George Kerr

Fishy:
How many games a season do you get to now, and what do you do while Town are playing games that you can't get to?

John:
Don't get to any.

Fishy:
Name your all-time starting eleven since you have been watching Town?

John:
(In no order, and I'll probably be short a few positions!)
Batch, Waters, Jobling, Cumming, Whymark, Drinkell, Wilkinson, Croft, K. Moore, Lund, Ford
