Galli Granted Leave

News From 1st March 2000

The club have granted Tony Gallimore a spell of compassionate leave and the player isn't expected back at Blundell Park this week.

That means that he won't figure in the Town side that will travel to the Bescot Stadium for the game with Walsall on Saturday unless he can make it back to the club by Thursday.

The club have not gone into details about why they have granted Gallimore leave of absence, preferring to say that it's a personal matter and one that is the players business.

Gallimore did not feature in Saturday's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Blundell Park and it's not clear when the club can expect him back playing football. His domestic affairs could be cleared up quickly according to a club spokesman - but then again it could take a while.

Either way it is being stressed that the club are allowing Gallimore whatever time away he feels he needs.
