Fostervold Interview

Knut Anders Fostervold today came home to Norway after a week's trial with the Mariners and was favourably impressed by his time in Cleethorpes. I asked the Molde player today what he made of the town and people of Grimsby.

Knut Anders replied: "Grimsby was a nice town, with a great environment for a family manst! I was taken good care of over there and got treated well. It seems like they will buy me!" "I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Grimsby Town FC looked like an excellent club for me. I enjoyed the spell through the week I was there!!" When I asked if he felt that the club either would choose him or Zwirgidauskas he answered: "No, I wasn't put up against the Lithuanian." I asked him if he thought that the 5 million kroner (around £375,000) price that the Norwegian Telegram Bureau have guessed was more than the club could offer: "Well that's maybe a little over the price that we talking about, but Grimsby have indicated that they are willing to pay the cost. So then it's up to Molde if they will let me go for, after all I have been doing the job in Molde for seven years!" I also asked what the difference between Grimsby and Molde was on the field. The Norwegian defender replied: "It's difficult to say where the football is played best. The Molde players may have better technique and tactical skills, but the English have a fantastic spirit and heart for the game. The pace of the game is fantastic, so that will probably be the toughest difference from Norwegian football if the move becomes a reality." On his treatment from the people at the club? "The officials, managers and players gave me a nice impression. Steven Firth, Grimsby's own agent, was fantastic to me, as was David Nielsen. We spent much time together and had a lot of fun. David is also very positive to continue the stay in Grimsby further, so the club should push a bit on him now!!! " Knut Anders also revealed to me that his biggest problem in Grimsby was that he had difficulties finding his way around because of the lack of mountains to aid his navigation!
