Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Norwich Preview

Saturdays' meeting between Norwich and Grimsby will be extremely important for both teams in their struggles in the relegation battle. Grimsby beat the Canaries 2-0 earlier this season, but away from home Town have failed to win at Carrow Road for 81 years and went down 3-0 last season.

Grimsby.

Grimsby still have a striker problem, though Steve Livingstone will maybe reach this match, though it's only expected that he will be on the bench. This match is the last for Zhang Enhua, though Zhang has had injury trouble lately but has now been ruled fit to play. Alan Pouton played very well against Birmingham after he came on as a sub against Brum.

Pouton will take Donovan's position on the right wing. Donovan will probably then be moved up as a striker instead of the on loan striker Luke Cornwall. It now seems like Wayne Burnett will miss the match after he was injured against Brum, Menno Willems will probably take his place if Pouton is used on the wing.

Norwich

Norwich is in terrible form with four lost matches in a row now (Huddersfield 0-2, WBA 0-1, Watford 1-4 and Preston 1-2). But with some help from the Canary fans they might take this six pointer against Grimsby who have had three in a row without losing now.

Norwich have to rely on striker Roberts who has 14 goals so far this season. Else the City have the former Manchester United player Phil Mulryne back from injury, Mulryne played against the Gillingham reserves a week ago. Just before transfer deadline a new striker came to Carrow Road, the Canadian striker Paul Peschisolido who was linked to Grimsby years ago when Alan Buckley was in the seat at Blundell Park.

Also the Peterborough defender Adam Drury is new for Norwich together with the Scottish international midfielder Gary Holt from Kilmarnock. City had a busy time before transfer deadline last week with also loaning away Paul Dalglish to Wigan and selling the striker Lee Marshall to Leicester for £600,000.

Meanwhile City boss Nigel Worthington tried to prepare his side before the Grimsby match by getting confidence back in the squad, the City boss will use big characters and personalities that want to perform for the side.
