A gate of 1602 at Blundell Park on Friday night saw a 5-0 demolition of a Finland U-16 team by their far superior French counterparts. From the kick off France were by far the better team and at times were walking past the defence.

The first goal came after a French attacker was tackled and really made a meal of a decent tackle, the ref gave a free-kick and Le Havre AC's Anthony Le Tallec fired in a fantastic shot from 35 yards which left the keeper stranded. The fourth was a result as of an elementary mistake by the Finnish keeper who raced out to a ball he never had a chance with and Le Tallec gladly slipped it past him and into an empty net.

The fifth was a little luck with the keeper making a good save from a shot before Grax tapped in.

Over all this was a very entertaining game with the French looking far too good for the Finns. All 3 attacking French players showed much pace and control, but all of the French looked good. However most are tied to a big French team. No one really stood out in a Finnish team, that never got going and struggled to string a few passes together.
