Fans Celebrate Win!

Party time at Blundell Park as the Mariners turned in the shock result of the day to beat Fulham 1-0 with Paul Groves scoring the winner in the 27th minute. Town fans were in full voice urging the lads on, their noise carrying over the commentary. A great spectacle for the 6,000 Grimsby fans at BP

In the other crucial games Dougie Freedman scored an 87th minute winner to keep Crystal Palace in the First Division and relegate Huddersfield. Crystal Palace played strongly doing everything but scoring and looked destined for division 2 before Freedman's brilliant solo effort secured the goal that saved them.

Huddersfield lost 2-1 at home to Birmingham having only needed a point to stay up and Portsmouth survived thanks to a home victory comfortably beating Barnsley 3-0 at Fratton Park where Barnsley looked uninterested.

Another season in the first division, and tonight, the party is on for the Grimsby fans who have had a long hard season and a nerve wracking wait for this final deciding game. Well done the lads!
