Yet another of Brian Laws' "rough diamonds", although this diamond was not so 'rough', more 'old and decrepit' even to play in the 1st division. Signed on loan from West Ham, Butler looked a little over the hil,l losing 2 of the 3 games he participated in.
Butler did not sparkle in Town's line up, but he could pass, which explains why Alan Buckley snapped him up at WBA. Whether it was Town's loss, we will never know, but as he did not last long at the Hawthorns, it does tell us that he maybe was not that good.
