Town Reserves Cup Exit to Lincoln

TOWN RESERVES crashed out of the Avon Insurance League Cup this afternoon, losing 2-1 to Lincoln City in the knock-out tournament.

City took the lead in first half stoppage time and then former Mariner Andy Smith scored again for the Imps within a minute of the restart. A late consolation penalty by Town substitute Chris Thompson was the Mariners only reply, and City held out to go though to the next round of the cup.

Lincoln City: Paul Pettinger, Mark Camm, Paul Mayo, Grant Brown, Dwane Soar, Justin Walker, Andy Smith, Ben Sedgemore (Chris McConville h/t), Dave Cameron, Tony Battersby, Richard Byrne (Grant Pinkney 68).

Subs (not used): Darren Horrigan, Chris Davies.
