Grimsby Town New Stadium Campaign

By: New Stadium Campaign
Date: 20/11/2001

ARE you in favour of the proposal to build a new stadium for GTFC on the site adjacent to Great Coates? Would you like the opportunity to voice your support to the Council? If so, read on!

We are a group of GTFC supporters who are determined to show the inquiry inspector that there IS public support for the New Stadium proposal. The public inquiry into the proposed amendment to the draft local plan for the site is due to begin in February 2002. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to make sure that your views are placed on record.

HOW? Write a letter of support TODAY showing that your are in favour of the plans for a new stadium and accompanying development at the Great Coates site.

In addition to the reasons why YOU support the proposal other areas that should be considered are:

  • Transport - better accessibility
  • Employment - jobs created during construction and from development
  • Facilities - more facilities for the town (i.e. conferencing)
  • Local Pride - a superb ‘gateway’ to the area
  • Tourism - bringing more away supporters to the area

Address your letters to: Chris Holliday, Principle Planning Officer, NELC

Forward them to: Grimsby Town New Stadium Campaign, 19d Park Drive, Huddersfield, HD1 4EB.

These will be added to other letters of support and presented to the Council in time for the public inquiry.

IMPORTANT

(18/11/01) So far nearly 200 hundred letters have been forwarded to the Council (from Great Coates) opposing the proposal.

Three letters of support have been received.

One of the main factors in the inquiry decision will be whether or not the PUBLIC want the new stadium and the development.

WE MUST SHOW THE INQUIRY THAT WE DO WANT THE NEW STADIUM AND ITS ACCOMPANYING DEVELOPMENT!

We need your letter - post it today!

P.S. Get your family and friends to send a letter too!

If you have friends and family who do not have access to the Internet, download this article as an MS Word document, print it out and ask them to distribute it to as many Town fans as possible.
