New Ground Petition

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 14/10/2001

THE GOVERNMENT has ordered a public inquiry into the plans of NE Lincolnshire council to change the local plan and allow Grimsby Town Football Club to build a new stadium at Great Coates.

Home > Features > New Ground Petition

The inquiry will be held in Cleethorpes Town Hall commencing on 5th February 2002. It will last for about 6 weeks but at the moment it is not known when the stadium issue will be on the agenda.

Supporters of Grimsby Town should be aware that the objectors to the scheme, mainly Great Coates residents, will be well organized and represented. It is important therefore that the inspector is aware of the volume of support in favour of the project.

One of the ways we can do that is to present the inspector with a petition calling for support of the stadium. That will not be enough however, but one would hope that the club would also be represented and able to offer direct evidence to the inspector.

Please sign our petition using the links below, which will be presented to the inspector during the inquiry.
