Four Players In One Day!

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/03/2002

GRIMSBY made it a remarkable transfer deadline day, signing no less than four players in the space of 24 hours. Along with Willie Falconer (signed yesterday), Wolves' Robert Taylor and Man City's Terry Cooke have joined on short-term contracts, and Paul Robinson has arrived on loan from Wimbledon.

Paul Groves added striker Robert Taylor as his fourth signing in 24 hours in the last five minutes of the transfer deadline, just after he became a free agent having been released by Wolves.

Taylor had a month on loan at Blundell Park earlier in the season, before having return to Molineux early after having received a red card against Bradford in only his fourth game for Town.

Earlier in the day Paul Groves has signed Wimbledon's Paul Robinson on loan and midfielder Terry Cooke from Man City on a short-term contract to complete a whirlwind day of business at Blundell Park.

Cooke had originally been brought in on loan, but was released by Man City within the hour, freeing up an extra slot which allowed Paul Robinson's loan to go ahead.
