Paul Groves - Looking Ahead!

"I think the pressure had been released and I think we were a bit flat. I don't want to harp-on, I want to remember the positives - what we have done to turn things around." said Paul Groves after the 3-1 defeat against Millwall.
Talking to Mariners Net, the official site he continued: "Yes we are disappointed, but we are happy that we didn't have to come down here and take something from the game. Obviously we had tried to approach the game in a positive manner, to the best of our ability."
"They started well and put us under pressure and today we didn't handle that very well, but like I say I really don't want to harp-on about that too much."
"It is important that everybody who has had a hand in keeping us safe came down here today and enjoyed the weekend as much as possible."
To the Grimsby TelegraphHe said: "It is nice now to sit down and reflect on what we have been able to achieve at this football club, and it is an achievement."
"At one point we were several points adrift. We weren't scoring too many goals and we were having to play a different system - and it was all those things that we knew about and had to address it and that took time and we knew that when we first started."
"We got everyone together, we managed to turn it around and I am very pleased with it."
"There are a number of things to sort out now," he said. "Obviously there will be a holiday, but there are contracts and all manner of things to sort out. We will try to address those and go from there."
"The nature of the club is that television money is a big part of the income, and we will have to see what we can do with that."
"We sat down briefly last week, and no doubt we will sit down over the next few weeks and try and thrash a few things out." he said.
On the game, he said: "We are disappointed but we are happy that we were in a position where we didn't have to come down here and pick up a result. We tried to approach it in a professional manner to the best of our ability. They started well, they put us under pressure, and to be fair we didn't handle it very well."
On Iain Ward: "It was another positive that we gave another player an opportunity to play first team football and he coped with that quite well, which is good news for this football club."
On Martin Pringle who was also at the game he said: "We have kept in touch with Martin, and Martin is someone we regard highly as a player but also as a person. He came down to the dressing room and when he was with us he fitted in very well. He is slowly making progress and he is going to see the specialist again this week, and hopefully he will make a full recovery."
On the fans: "They have played a major part and the support we received today from the travelling numbers was excellent. They have played a major part and the can take great credit from that."
